Wake up, wake up, wake up it’s the 1st of the month!
Hey, Guise! Today is the first day of September! As you may remember, I did a similar first day of the month goals post for August. It entailed all of my financial goals that I hoped to at least start working on , if not completely annihilate, altogether. I was pumped! So, in an effort in maintaining a semblance of consistency, I’m going to do it again, this month. Let’s keep the party going!
So, here we go… AGAIN!
- Get out of debt- COMPLETELY!
While I did manage to pay off a little chunk of my debt, specifically my credit card, its still there. My goal is to completely pay of the last few hundred dollars that I owe on my credit card and personal loan. THEN I can focus on my massive student loan debt.
- Create a Well-stocked Emergency Fund
Saving ain’t sexy, but its necessary. I currently have a few hundred dollars saved into my account. Its a far cry from my six months expenses savings goal, but every little bit counts. Plus, it will be much easier when I pay off all of my consumer debt and no longer have that monkey on my back.
- Create Multiple Sources of Income
This is also in progress. I want to start investing with the goal of receiving dividends every so often. I will write another post about this, soon.
- Planning for early retirement
I just transferred the funds from a Roth account that I had with the Treasury into an different Roth that allows me to invest. This will be discussed in a later post, as well.
- Be a Blessing
Unless you’ve been avoiding the news, then you’ve heard about Hurricane Harvey and the destruction its left in its wake in Houston, Texas. While not exactly, financial, I am ecstatic that I was able to wrangle my coworkers into donating necessary items and we will be shipping them out by, next week. While its not life changing, we should all try to be the change we want to see in the world. Every little act of kindness can have a huge impact on our fellow neighbor. Please do what you can to help others, in need.
These are just a few of my main goals, on my journey to wealth. I don’t have a timeline, just yet. Maybe by the time I’m 50 years old, is a good start. Ideally, even sooner.
I plan to do a monthly goals post as a way of keeping myself accountable and keeping ya’ll updated on my progress. Remember, were in this together!
What do you think of my list? Is it doable? What’s on your list? Let me know, in the comments!
