Wake up, wake up, wake up it’s the 2nd of the month!
Yea, I know those aren’t the words. and I know that I’m a day late. But let’s pretend for a moment that time is unimportant and just a figure of our imaginations.
Too deep? Look, I’m late so let’s just move along:
Hey, Guise! Today is the first day of August! As you may remember, I did a similar first day of the month goals post for September. It entailed all of my financial goals that I hoped to at least start working on , if not completely annihilate, altogether. I was pumped! So, in an effort in maintaining a semblance of consistency, I’m going to do it again, this month. Let’s keep the party going!
So, here we go… AGAIN!
- Get out of debt- COMPLETELY!
Still…working..on…this…SHIT! I mentioned in a previous blog post that I’ve been really swipe happy, so my credit card balance went waaayy up. But this is the LAST month that I will making any charges using my credit card. I started back paying bills using cash, only and stopped bills that are automatic payments. I’m hoping that that helps.
- Create a Well-stocked Emergency Fund
Saving still ain’t sexy, but its still necessary. I have managed to squirrel away a few dollars into my account. Little by little. I can’t wait until I finally pay off my stupid credit card and can really make it rain in my savings account.
- Create Multiple Sources of Income
This is also still in progress. I finally bought a few stocks using my retirement account. I can’t wait until I get to the point where dividends pay for my lifestyle. That’s a long ways off, for now.
- Planning for early retirement
The funds from my Treasury Roth account FINALLY transferred into my new Roth IRA. As I mentioned above, I used those funds to purchase stocks. I spoke with my supervisor at one of my many jobs, today, and me converting from a part-time employee with full-time hours to an actual full timer with benefits. I don’t want to get my hopes up but It could mean that I will be making more money and possibly contributing to a employment-sponsored retirement plan, soon. Fingers crossed!
- Be a Blessing
Last, momth, I wrote about my coworkers and I donating to those affected by Hurricane Irma. I want to continue to donate what I can to those, in need. Unfortunately, that now includes Puerto Rico and the Carribean islands. I’m researching the best way for me to go about doing so.
These are just a few of my main goals, on my journey to wealth. I don’t have a timeline, just yet. Maybe by the time I’m 50 years old, is a good start. Ideally, even sooner.
I plan to do a monthly goals post as a way of keeping myself accountable and keeping ya’ll updated on my progress. Remember, were in this together!
What do you think of my list? Is it doable? What’s on your list? Let me know, in the comments!
