Aaaahhhh. It’s November. The time of giving thanks and alsowhen men purposely go unshaven and look like sexy grizzly bears…. One of my favorite times of the year.
But this November, I decided that I wanted to do a sort of experiment.
Let me ‘splain:
As you may recall, last month I had some pretty lofty financial goals. One of them including putting a major dent in my credit card. Well, I did make considerably high payments….but my butt also made considerably higher charges, too. In other words, hustling backwards. So, I am sad to say that my balance actually INCREASED!
I admit, I had a pretty good time actually pretending to have a life, this month:
I went to my Alma Mater’s annual rival football game. It’s a huge tradition for me to be in the city every year for the festivities, so that is something I absolutely could not miss. I had to contribute food and such to my friends’ tailgate (I ain’t no bum, na’mean). Plus, I drink alcohol. And lots of it. Which ain’t cheap.
On top of that, I put my fur child up in a swanky pet hotel that same weekend, so that I could truly be irresponsible without having all of the hang ups of bad (pup) parenting. I also threw in a dog party and spa day for her, so she wouldn’t judge me so much when I came to pick her up, afterwards.
Lastly, I took advantage of a Bath and Body works sale and went ahead and bought my boss (and myself, smh) a Christmas gift.
To sum it all up…I spent too damn much during October. And I’m shamed, yall. Real shamed.
Soooo, as a result, I thought it would be a great idea to try and do a No Spend Challenge during November.
Here’s the plan:
- Stop buying unnecessary shit.
That’s the whole plan.
Just stop it. I know it will be inevitable to avoid not spending in December, thus, November is actually the perfect time to do this. And because misery loves company, I asked some friends to join me. They reluctantly enthusiastically joined me and now I feel encouraged to really go hard at it!
Will you join me in this challenge? If so, what do you plan to cut out and/ eliminate this November to save money? Let me know in the comments!
